A year of living with a Kindle – statistics
I had an attack of organisation today and got my tax return in early. One of the joys of being self-employed is that I can legitimately claim the cost of all the books I buy as an expense.
In previous years I’ve simply dug out all my receipts. I got my Kindle for my birthday last April so my Kindle purchases started in the tax year just gone. And it threw up some interesting numbers.
From April 2011 until March 2012, I bought about 130 books.
95 of those were on Kindle.
I spent twice as much on e-books as on print books.
The average cost of each Kindle purchase was £2.87.
About half of the books I bought were 99p – the rest tended to be at least £4.00 or above.
I only ‘bought’ 15 free books – and most of those were classics now out of copyright.
